WordPress is a content management system (CMS) that allows you to host and build websites.
Note: You may skip this step if you already have a website.
Creating a new WordPress website within SiteGround is straightforward.
Please see the screenshots posted below that display a step-by-step guide on creating a new website.
There are two things I need to point out:
- If you are on a fresh install and you have pointed your domain for the first with SiteGround nameservers, it may take up to 72 hours to use your domain.
The workaround is to use the temporary domain provided by SiteGround until the DNS population is finished or the IP Address from your Dashboard. - If you choose the WordPress starter package, you will have 3 SiteGround plugins auto-installed and activated. Please delete the WordPress Starter Dashboard plugin, which will cause some problems when we mirror the installation to our local environment.
